When the palm roots of ancient mystical Indonesian palm trees sunk into the our earth mother MILLIONS of years ago, the Silica carried in underground water combined with intense pressure, caused the pseudomorphic process of wood being replaced by microcrystalline Quartz, largely Chalcedony and Jasper. Meaning the wood and root of a tree has turned into a material with a crystalline structure; technically a member of the chalcedony family with a hardness of 6.5 to 7.
Technically speaking the palm root now holds within it all elements; the earth it birthed from and returned to, the Light and heat of our fiery sun and the air it photosynthesised during its time as a tree, and the water element that caused it to adapt and transform its inner structure over centuries.
I’m a bit like Pocahontas, believing ‘every rock and tree and creature, has a life, has a spirit, has a name’, and I can't help but think of Palm Root as the Soul of an ancient tree that stood under the stars of a different time in one of the most magical and areas of our planet.
I personally have always had a strong affinity to Indonesia from childhood, (especially Indonesain Gamelan music, Love meditating to it) So maybe it's the resonance of the land from which it came for me, but I Love this Mineral!
Visually it is stunning, with many pieces looking like fire against a midnight sky (which is also something I have seen in personal past life regressions…?) Many monochrome crystals are good for shadow work, yet this Crystal has a much lighter tone and feel to it than say Obsidian or Astrophyllite, something I did not expect upon visual observation.
In times of transformation, perhaps your having what some people refer to as a ‘shamanic death’ Palm Root helps you to go through this process with less resistance, reminding us ‘actually this process does not have to be that difficult’, in fact it gently releases and heals our old outdated energies, and stabilizes any new ‘spiritual upgrade’ energies we have coming in. I guess it's almost like a ‘cheat code’ in shadow work, sometimes you can achieve this almost unconsciously and painlessly when you have been working with Palm Root consistently for a while, which I would put down to the fact it helps you ‘stabilize’ in your emotional foundations, and therefore feel more confident in making the right decisions.
Palm root is ALSO extremely helpful in;
Ancestral healing work - Palm Root helps us to identify and release old karmic patterns and current behaviours linked to our ancestral traumas, in both past and present lives.
Just like you would bury crystals in the earth for deep clearing and reset, Palm Root helps to transmute negative energies, in this case I'm talking about negative emotions; Fear, jealousy, anxiety etc.
Palm Root helps increase your personal prana (that’s your chi, your life force energy)
It is helpful in grounding you to this plane, building strong roots to your foundation in order for your self discovery both in a metaphorical sense and a ‘astral travelling sense.’
It is amazing for any work you need to do on your ‘earth star chakra’ (balancing, unblocking and activating)
Can also be used balance your root/base chakra
For a ‘dark’ stone it does not hold a very heavy energy and is fairly uplifting
Great for connecting you to nature, and nature spirits.
Can be used to strengthen your Solar Plexus.
Palm Root promotes an attitude of continuous and effortless self evolution, which is something we all need a little of these days, with motivation to carry on along our spiritual path in hard times.
